Terms of Service

1. Agreement Status

These Terms are an agreement between you and Creatium Pte. Ltd. (the Provider), which provides Linguateca on the international domain. By creating an account, using the service, purchasing access, starting a subscription, or using a paid feature, you accept these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service. The Provider may update these Terms by publishing a new version on the site.

2. Definitions

• Site means the Linguateca service available at https://linguateca.app/.
• Account means a user record used for sign-in, access control, saved settings, and service communication.
• Content means texts, adaptations, translations, hints, explanations, catalog metadata, interface materials, software, and related materials available through the Site.
• Paid Access means access to paid works, membership features, subscriptions, purchases, or other paid functionality offered on the Site.

3. Service

Linguateca provides access to classic literary works adapted for reading at CEFR levels A1-C2, with fragment-level translation hints, original text views, saved local reading progress, and related reading tools.

Linguateca is not a school, university, language exam provider, or certification service. The service does not issue educational certificates or guarantee any particular language-learning result.

The catalog, available languages, levels, access rules, prices, and features may vary by region, account status, and technical availability.

4. Account and Access

Some parts of the Site may be available without an account. Other parts require registration, sign-in, membership, or purchase.

You must provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials confidential. Actions performed through your account may be treated as actions performed by you.

The Provider may suspend or restrict access if your account is used to violate these Terms, bypass technical limits, harm the service, or infringe the rights of others.

5. Paid Access, Purchases, and Subscriptions

Prices, currencies, access periods, renewal terms, and included features are shown on the Site or during checkout when paid features are offered.

A purchase or subscription gives you personal access to the relevant digital service. It does not transfer ownership of Content, software, or database rights.

If automatic renewal is offered, renewal and cancellation terms must be shown before payment. You are responsible for cancelling a subscription before renewal if you no longer want it.

6. Refunds

If you experience a technical error, duplicate charge, missing access, or other payment problem, contact the Provider at the email listed below.

Refunds are considered in accordance with the checkout terms, the nature of the digital access already provided, payment-provider rules, and mandatory consumer-protection law that applies to you.

7. Intellectual Property

Many source works in the catalog are selected from public-domain sources. Adaptations, translations, hints, explanations, catalog structure, interface, software, and compiled databases may still be protected by copyright, database rights, or other rights.

You receive a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the Site and Content through the Site interface for private reading and learning.

• Do not copy, scrape, download in bulk, redistribute, sell, sublicense, or publicly publish Content from the Site without permission.
• Do not reverse engineer, interfere with, overload, or bypass technical restrictions of the Site.
• Do not use automated access in a way that harms service stability or violates access limits.

8. AI Explanation Feature

The Site may include an automated explanation feature for selected text fragments. Explanations are generated by software and may contain mistakes, omissions, or simplified interpretations.

Explanations are provided for reading support only. They are not professional advice, certified translation, academic assessment, or a guarantee of language proficiency.

The Provider may limit, cache, change, suspend, or disable this feature for technical, cost, safety, or abuse-prevention reasons.

9. Acceptable Use

• Use the Site only for lawful personal reading and learning purposes.
• Do not attempt unauthorized access to accounts, admin areas, databases, payment systems, or infrastructure.
• Do not upload, submit, or transmit malware, spam, abusive requests, or content that violates law or third-party rights.
• Do not use the Site to build a competing dataset by mass extraction of adaptations, translations, hints, or metadata.

10. Availability and Changes

The Site is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. The Provider may update, modify, reorganize, or temporarily suspend parts of the Site for maintenance, security, legal, or product reasons.

The Provider does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, permanent availability of every work or feature, or suitability for a particular learning purpose.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Site at any time. If account deletion becomes available through the interface, you may request or perform deletion subject to legal and payment-record retention obligations.

The Provider may terminate or restrict access if you materially violate these Terms or create legal, security, or operational risk for the service.

12. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Provider is not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, loss of data, interrupted access, third-party service failures, or learning outcomes.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under mandatory consumer-protection law applicable to you.

13. Communications

The Provider may communicate with you through the Site interface, account email, or the contact email below. You may contact the Provider about access, payment, privacy, or legal questions by email.
